Kraljevo
Kraljevo is a city in central Serbia, in the Raška District, and about 180km far from Belgrade. The municipality of Kraljevo is one of the largest in Serbia, with more than 120,000 inhabitants and half of them live in the city itself.
Kraljevo is a significant cultural centre of Serbia, primarily because of its rich history and the historic monuments that are located nearby, such as the mediaeval fortress of Maglič and the monasteries of Studenica, Žiča and Gradac. On its coat of arms there are seven crowns symbolizing seven kings that were crowned in Žiča.
Kraljevo has an exceptional geographical position and therefore it is a significant tourist centre. Three rivers flow through the city: the Ibar, the West Morava and the Ribnica. In the vicinity there are several spas: Vrnjačka Banja, Mataruška Banja and Bogutovačka Banja as well as several mountains: Kopaonik, Goč, Čemerno, Stolovi, and Kotlenik. There are tourist and cultural events during the whole year, such as The Cultural Summer of Kraljevo and The Days of Lilacs, various fairs and music festivals, and the most famous eco-entertainment event Merry Rafting down the river Ibar, from Maglič to Kraljevo.
